It’s the 2020 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Week and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region IV-A together with OTOP Next Gen (ONG) are currently conducting Pasinaya: The OTOP Digital Market Showroom and Online Trade Platform via Zoom.

According to the DTI official website, “Pasinaya, [a Tagalog word] which means debut, is the kickoff for the new normal trade fairs. Through Pasinaya, buyers are able to meet, source, and connect to the best of the OTOP homegrown regional exhibitors digitally. It is entirely virtual in which meetings and networking can be easily initiated and accessed online through computers and mobile devices.”

Anyone can attend and will be given an info packet upon registration. The info packet will contain details about Pasinaya and guidelines on navigating Zoom rooms, OTOP website and application forms. Buyers, guests and sellers can request to transfer rooms if they want a more in-depth discussion.

Twenty food sector MSMEs from Region IV-A are present. In the morning session scheduled from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., MSMEs selling non-food products will be in the showrooms while the 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. afternoon session will feature those selling food products. Items such as jacobina, gourmet tuyo, organic cider vinegar, home decorations, accessories, soaps and slippers will be offered in Pasinaya.

“We are very happy that our Calabarzon MSMEs are starting to consider possible and practical ways to maintain and boost revenue by joining virtual trade fairs like Pasinaya. This will not only help them reach their target markets but also promote, sell, and demonstrate their products and services free of charge through the use of technology, as this can also be a potential source for future growth,” says DTI Region IV-A director Marilou Toledo.
