Massimo Bottura of three-Michelin-starred restaurant Osteria Francescana announced that he will be live streaming his family dinners in his new “Kitchen Quarantine” series on Instagram every day at 3 p.m. (ET). The series will be broadcast in English to reach as many people as possible.
In the past episodes, Bottura has already shared his version of Thai curry, “bollito” salad, tortellini in creamy parmesan sauce (his signature dish), and an “everything Mac and Cheese” dinner.
The 57-year-old chef, who also runs Gucci Osteria in Florence and Beverly Hills, wanted to “share this joyful family experience with everyone connected around the world.” From his home country of Italy, which is now considered the epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic, Bottura answers questions from viewers regarding his methods, ingredients, and recipe—all for free.
But this isn’t the first time Bottura has held an online cooking class. In 2019, he also taught through Masterclass, with each session costing $90 each.
