Mike Holaschke powering an F&B establishment’s coffee program isn’t as far-fetched as you might immediately think.
The Austrian video creator behind Making It Happen has never been shy about his fondness for coffee. In fact, this isn’t his first foray into foodservice as he has owned coffee shops in Austria as well as Miami where he used to live.
“This is I think my fifth or sixth business already,” Holaschke says about his entrepreneurial drive.
Although he has found his calling in content creation and built a career along the way, coffee remains a passion. This spurred the creation of Morse Coffee in 2022 as part of Charles Paw’s Tasteless Food Group—first as a pop-up and then eventually opening a brick and mortar at Public Eatery in Robinsons Magnolia.
As the name suggests, Holaschke intends to “foster communication” around good quality coffee that, at least based on relatively high Google reviews, seems to have tickled the taste buds of its Filipino customers.

Now, nearly two years into the industry, Morse Coffee’s potent pilot program with craft cookie shop Scout’s Honor at its Uptown Mall location in BGC sees Holaschke engage with customers and give a preview of what “empowering restaurants” with Morse Coffee truly means.
“‘Powered by Morse’ is a new concept that we’re working on and the idea behind it is there are many restaurants and venues in the Philippines that have not-so-good coffee,” he says. “We want to offer the opportunity to serve high-quality coffee and provide training, coffee beans, recipes, costing, and then of course quality control over time.”
Morse Coffee’s menu teems with ideas for any establishment looking to launch or expand their coffee offerings or position themselves as a beverage leader in their respective locales.

Using their Ethiopia-Benguet blend roasted by Plain Sight Coffee, classics like flat white and Americano as well as signature concoctions of dirty malt latte that uses Horlicks malted milk and a striking dirty chai latte, which speaks to today’s Instagram and TikTok generation, are supercharged with a medium dark roast flavor profile.
The coffee selection also lends itself well to a savory and sweet menu—in this case, Scout’s Honor’s spinach and cheese pockets, bacon carbonara, and a slew of delicious cookies.
Holaschke clarifies though that the “Powered by Morse Coffee” program still requires meeting a set of criteria with brands they could and would work with to ensure the collaboration can indeed happen and systems are properly powered.

“There will be certain criteria especially when it comes to equipment—what coffee machine they have, what coffee grinders they have because we are really like a specialty coffee store. So the equipment needs to be good enough to be able to make the beverages that we have.”
Indeed, while great coffee starts with the beans, other factors like brewing methods, grind, and water quality among others, can leave an impact on a cup.
I suppose that’s where Holaschke—a “professional coffee drinker” these days he says with a laugh—and Morse Coffee can come in.
