A new online shopping platform called Lift Lokal was recently launched to sustain local small businesses that also have their own initiatives to help those in need. It is a partnership between Luxx Lash, a magnetic lash retailer, and The Good Trade, an online platform for brands and non-governmental organizations that advocate sustainable living.
The platform aims to empower and sustain small businesses as they provide the needs of their employees and while supporting those in need of help. Part of the sales of the participating brands will go to their respective beneficiaries who are affected by the pandemic, such as medical frontliners and those in the vulnerable sector.
The website also has a wide range of offerings from different independent brands, from accessories down to toys. Participating food and beverage brands include BZZZ PH (100 percent honey in jars sourced from North Luzon), Philippine Craft Kings (craft beers from local breweries) and Hearth (a plant-based pastry shop with sugar-, gluten-free and low carb goodies).
Local brands who wish to participate can sign up on Lift Lokal’s website. Qualifications include having their own website and social media accounts, as well as a COVID-19 initiative.
Supporting small businesses can also be done through Instagram’s new Support Small Business sticker. This feature aims to gain new traction to micro, small and medium enterprises and help them during this time.
